McLane Stadium - Baylor University
CSL was engaged by Baylor University to conduct a market and financial feasibility study to assess building a new campus football stadium along the north bank of the Brazos River near Interstate 35. CSL services included a review of the historical operations of the university football program and Floyd Casey Stadium; a review of Big 12 Conference and other comparable stadium characteristics; nearly 4,900 email surveys of Baylor Bear Foundation donors, football season and occasional ticket buyers, alumni, faculty/staff, and students to determine demand for private suites, loge boxes, club seats, donor seating and general ticket sales for a new campus stadium; development of a financial model reflecting the incremental revenue and expense implications of moving football to a new campus stadium; and, review of potential funding options that might be available to fund construction of the proposed stadium.
The $266 million, 45,140-seat McLane Stadium opened in 2014. The project was funded from a combination of naming and donor recognition opportunities, premium seating, capital seat gifts, donor seating and a contribution from the City of Waco.
